Hi Louise, I would always be happy whenever the stuttering community finds a voice. Your paper presented one such opportunity and I am glad! Regarding the job, I am still unemployed. I do not refute the possibility that the factors other than the speech might also contribute to a stutterer's or non-stutterer's rejection from a prospective employment. I have had interviews with fortune 500 companies, the list is endless, but I will name some- Amazon.com, Boeing, Union Pacific Railroads, ExxonMobil, FedEx, CITGO, Shlumberger, National Instruments, CATerpillar, John Deere, Black & Veatch, Husqvarna.......... What does an interviewer judge in a candidate? Does he have credentials, is he a team-player, can he contribute to the company.. I have the credentials, I can only assure you that I am an outgoing person, I have a bunch of loyal friends, always prepared to help and work in a team. Then if every average Joe manages to find a job, at one place or other, sooner or later, then why am I still unemployed even after 10 months, since graduation? BTW, I also posted a reply to Russ's comment above in the list, because I believe I do not have an identification issue. I am saying this in an objective manner, not in a defensive manner so as to cater to my ego.
