I'm sorry to hear that you are still unemployed, as of a week or so ago at any rate. All I can say is, keep up the good fight! And as you examine the reasons for your unemployment, consider other factors that may outweigh stuttering, or that the stuttering may push over the edge. Many employers are afraid right now to hire people who are not citizens, even if they are here legally. If you are from the Middle East or South Asia, you might be the victim of plain old ethnic discrimination because of the political climate in America now. And you might need to search for work in a different part of the country. None of this excuses discrimination, but one thing we all must realize is that the world is not fair. We can each try to make our own corner a little fairer, but these reforms are made incrementally. In fact, the older I get, the more prejudice seems like some kind of Whak-a-Mole game, in which we beat it down in one place only to watch it spring up in another. Sigh. Lou Heite
