You state, "But I think the issue is not to change society and how they handle dealing with people who stutter." I have to disagree here. Certainly the support systems help, and teaching those who do not stutter how to better deal with those who do is important. But the net result of that teaching- teaching of tolerance, really - is to diminish a prejudice. If people did not act on prejudice, after all, there would be no need to teach. Non-stutterers would be patient and listen, they would not tease, they would care about content of speech over form, and so forth. Lou Heite
