Hi! I am an SLP Masters student at New York University. I am currently enrolled in a Fluency Disorders class and your story intrigued me. First let me say that you are a true inspiration to stutterers of all ages. You are proof that no matter what difficulties people face communication wise, they can grow to be truly successful, wonderful individuals. You have used your fear of speech difficulty to reach out to so many, and for that you should be forever proud! I do have a couple of questions just so that I may better understand stuttering. I know that you did not receive any type of therapy until the age of ten when you were at camp. Do you feel that if you had any type of therapy before that age that things might have been different in your younger ears? Did being a part of the "speech correction" camp harbor any negative feelings, as if there was something wrong? Did you enjoy the camp experience? Do you think life would have been different had you never attended camp? Did stress ever play a role in your stuttering and in what way? Thank you for taking the time to look over these questions. Please do not feel obligated tto answer. It is wonderful to see that you have accomplished so much and have reached so many people. I wish you all the luck in the future. Danielle Giacino
