Russ, After spending significant and **enjoyable** time reading your article, your answers and re-reading your other papers quoted in the answers, I found out that we have much more in common than I had formerly thought. 1) I also subscribe to Sheehan's iceberg model. 2) We both are getting older and mellower, at least I am. 3) We both have had successful careers in defense industry, where results counted. 4) We both understood no matter how much we might have wanted to make pancakes, if the ingredient we have at hand is beef our choice is only to make a good steak or at the most a hamburger. <grin> I am enjoying my old age trying to help people who stutter by earning my Psy. D. degree; you are directly talking to people and providing a good example..........***A question: How much time in your life have you spent working with a therapist on fear, shame, guilt, anxiety, hopelessness, isolation, and helplessness?*** Gunars
