Mr. Hicks, My name is Shanel and I am a graduate student at Kean University. I have always been around someone who stutters or stammers as we say in Jamaican. First, my brother and later my stepfather. After reading your story I had to read it to my stepfather as well. It was so great for us both to read how stuttering has transformed your life. Prior to reading your story we have never discussed his stutter, but a door was opened where we were able to freely discuss it. I am now able to gain some insight on his feelings, and I thank you for that.
