Hi Kelyn, ..... You asked, "Has stuttering ever affected you negatively?" It was certainly a major nuisance in my youth. It also affected my perceived ability to ask girls out on dates. I made a prejudgment that I couldn't do it and several times when I tried it ended in disaster. But those were actually rather stupid attempts anyway. I've been married to my high school sweetheart for 43 years. Of course it helped greatly that she was my best friend's younger sister! <grin> ..... My son who does NOT stutter, however, has dated more girls than I have ever SEEN in my entire life! It doesn't hurt that he's six feet four and is a Marine jet fighter pilot. And his dating adventures are legendary. But that's another story of course. I often wonder how he could possibly be my son! ..... You also asked, "...at this point in your life would you consider any type of therapy?" No. I'm totally happy with my speech as it is. Even though I still stutter, I no longer struggle with my speech at all and my stuttering is open and easy. I'd much rather work with speech therapists than have therapy myself. Fluency is simply not that important to me. ..... Tell Erin I said Hi! <smile> ..... Thanks for your kind words, Kelyn. I wish you the best. ..... Russ, my email is russhicks@mail.com
