Hi Jimetress, ..... Thanks for your kind words. Judy Kuster gave me some extra time to answer your question, so here goes... ..... You asked "did you feel that this topic [stuttering] was an asset?" Oh yes indeed! Heck, it's bound to be good for something! Ha, ha, ha! Once I began to realize that I could reach all different kinds of people, not just people who stuttered, I began to feel very honored that somehow I had been given this amazing gift. It's been a challenge for me ever since to use this gift to benefit people in almost every walk of life. The only people I can't benefit are those who don't have any problems. And there aren't many of those people around! <smile> ..... I talk to people at every opportunity I can get. Toastmasters, the NSA, the Lions' Club, various civic organizations... I even spoke to the American Auctioneers Auxiliary once! And even at this ISAD conference I was able to connect an SLP who was hearing impaired with a friend of mine in Toastmasters who is hearing impaired! As my friend said, "You never know who you touch!" ..... As the Bible says, "To whom much is given, much is expected." And I have been given a LOT! So I need to keep my tail in gear and DO a lot! ..... I wish you the best, Jimetress, ..... Russ, my email is russhicks@mail.com
