I am a UK recovering PWS (person/people who stammer). I have been asking fluent friends how many PWS they know. Answer, only me. Now I find this strange. The 1% is an estimate. I am not clear who arrived at that conclusion and on what basis. If it is near the truth, then I can only conclude there are many, many Covert PWS. That compounds the therapy issues. I would be very pleased to talk to SLTs / SLPs, singly or in classes, under training or not. For me it is a further stride outside my comfort zones. One more issue, I know stammering/stuttering is only one speech disorder. What percentage of an SLP/SLT's time is spent on it with clients and what time is spent on other speech disorders? Keith
