Isn't a theory AND laboratory course in stuttering a minimum requirement?

y'all, When I started out in physical sciences every physics theory course included laboratory sessions. In psychology we are required to do a practicum (mine was two years of 20 hours per week? Would it not be wise to incorporate in stuttering therapy course both the theory and hands on therapy with a client. I assume that in most of the universities or the community there are enough people who stutter and would avail themselves of free therapy. Respectfully, Gunars
