I found the comments questioning the lack of clients for student SLPs to work with very interesting. In particular because I recently had a discussion with a school SLP who just received referrals for 4 stutterers. What is interesting about that is that in the previous 15 years she never received a referral for a child who stutters. Is that under-referring, lack of ability to discriminate stutterers or a strange statistical glitch? In any event, it does point to the relative paucity of clients to treat for student SLPs.
