Larry, Thanks a lot for your comments. I am very thankful to the International Stuttering Association ISA and its board that conceived this idea of an African stuttering Conference and were of enormous support in its organisation. Africa as you said has varying cultures……., and that is why the project is taking into account the socio cultural context of Africa which in some way is different from some parts of the world. SLPs, researchers and other service providers involve in this project will also be given the chance to learn from us as we shall be learning from them. From contacts already made with these specialists some of them are very interested in taking part in this project and to learn some of the traditional methods of treating stuttering in Africa, how the transfer of fluency techniques for example in English language to the local dialects spoken in Africa can work etc. If you are interested in having more information on this project do not hesitate to contact me via email lujotar@yahoo.com
