Sarah, Organising such a conference cannot be ‘chalenges-free’. Having the involvement of decision makers in the preparation and hosting of the conference was not easy. We live in a continent full of problems. Due to the poverty in Africa, little attention is given to stuttering by the government and other non governmental bodies. To convince the government to be involve in the conference and to secure fundings for the conference was extremely difficulty. We received applications from more than 100 stutterers from out of Cameroon and from different Africa countries. Due to budgetary constraints we had only to offer travel scholarship to some of these applicants. It wasn’t easy deciding on who to be given the scholarship and who not to be given as all the applicant presented very strong reasons for attending the conference. In short there were many challenges and these are some of those chalenges.
