Very difficult question. I think people in Africa did not know that stuttering could be helped via speech therapy offered by speech pathologists. Stuttering like any other disorders handled by speech pathologists have been kind of ignored in Africa and this may be due to lack of funding. Very few countries in Africa offer education to handicap persons due to the fact that there are no institutions to take care of people with special needs. I think all this is due to lack of adequate knowledge and funding too
