You raise a superb question about qualifying for speech therapy when grades are good. I hate that case load size or other bureaucratic garbage deprives children of help. I have had many gifted children deprived of treatment presnet themselves in my private practice with a myriad of avoidance habits and fear. Record your intake on audio or video. If in your interview the child lists not raising his hand, avoiding, fear, or word changing in class, he should be entitled: he is not comfortable and not maximizing his ability because of fear.
