First and foremost, I wanted to thank you for your article. I don't think that a lot of people realize that they give reactive cues that can be seriously detrimental to the progress of a person with a fluency disorder. I was also wondering how you felt about the statement "Take your time" when a person is struggling. I am a graduate student with little to no experience with fluency disorders, and I feel that might be something I would say. I would not use it unless the person gave up, but I don't want to discourage any client from speaking, no matter how much time it takes them. Again, I wanted to thank you for your article.
