Bamboo under fingernails....kidding. Several people before you have asked this very good question. In a response to "rachel" above, I wrote out a script for reframing a parent. You must use conversation reframing skills to lead the parent or teacher to WANT to become proactive. Evey behavior has a positive intention. Ask the parent "why they feel it is important to do the reactive thing". THis get's the positive intention. THen ask them if they keep doing that until their child is 18, if it will serve them well. Bring them future to consider the implications. VALIDATE AND THEN EDUCATE. Tim
