Thank YOU, Carla for the reinforcement. Boy, if we could package the teachings of experience.... Having heard from some SLP students, I have a couple of thoughts on how they can benefit early on from our learning. I guess to share these thougts can be helpful but like our clients, they will have to go through their own experiences too. But, there are some great 'life course' workshops, classes and seminars out there that weren't aorund when I was a young clinician that our newbies can definitely take advantage of. In fact, I have sent all of my staff to the Option Institute for at least one course....not with any dictum of shoulds though. I said if they hate it, fine but they all came back wanting more.
