Hello students in Judy Kuster's class! ..... Wonderful paper! Not only have you made "mini-celebrities" out of all these terrrrrrific people, you have learned an amazing amount of what it means to be an SLP. You have to work with living, breathing people and not just disembodied voice boxes! That's THE key to success in working with people who stutter. I'm sure your interviews with all these people will be with you the rest of your lives. Way to go! ..... I guess I'm probably in a unique position relative to almost everyone else reading this paper - with the possible exception of Judy Kuster herself. I am the owner of the Stutt-L listserv and I actually KNOW almost all the people who are covered in your interviews. And many of them are very personal good friends of mine. If I don't know them personally, I know them through Stutt-L or the NSA or even through this ISAD conference in past years. The stuttering community is an amazing group of wonderful people. It is tempting to tell stories on each one of those people, but being the nice guy that I am <evil grin>, I'll refrain from telling what secrets I know... Ha, ha, ha! ..... Congratulations on an outstanding paper students! When I speak to student SLPs, I always tell them Thank you for dedicating YOUR careers and YOUR lives to MY cause. YOU are my heros! I love you all! ..... My very best to each one of you! ..... Russ
