I am really grateful to the people who were willing to share their experiences of dealing with stuttering. I could read a million books on the different theories and symptoms, but it takes a real life story to put it in perspective. There is so much variety from person to person with dealing with daily activies and the emotions of different situations. Louis Roden said, and I quote,"Those that are fluent have NO idea what we go through to speak." That really is true, so I think it is crucial to hear stories, so some understanding can be formed. I am fluent, but I can relate to any emotion, because I have had them all at one time or another. When I read about how stuttering made this person angry or another person depressed I can understand those emotions, because they are universal. I am glad there are people willing to share their stories of success while dealing with a stuttering problem. I saw that in most people's lives they had a good support system, and for those who don't, I feel reading these interviews would be a good place to start.
