First off I am sorry it took me so long to reply. There is another paper on Stuttering Home Page about the Botox shots. I wrote that paper for Judy a short time after I had the last shot. I will tell you now that because the vocal cords were paralysis they could not lock up. With the vocal cords being more relaxed my jaw also stayed relaxed. I did not have those hard blocking blocks during that time. I learned that once the shot was wearing off I could block with out the lower jaw locking up and then releasing hard against the upper teeth. I do find that today at times I go back to the old way. I still struggle with the jaw locking up at times. But those times are few and far apart. Stress at work will cause me to go back to the old way. Remember these shots are not for anyone. I do not say this is a cure and that every one will be cured of stuttering. I still think and feel the best cure is that YOU accept the fact you stuttering. I wish I would of realize that when I was younger and not in my mid 50's I hope this answers your question.
