I have dealt with a mild stuttering problem since I was about 3 years old. My native language is Icelandic and I have lived in the US for 4 years now. I never stuttered when speaking english until the last year and a half or so. My explanation is that now I am becoming more "fluent" in the english language and my focus is no longer on looking for the right words to say when speaking. So the more fluent in the language I become, the more speech dysfluency it brings. Are there others out there that have had the same experience?
