I am currently enrolled in a stuttering class where I learned that the likelihood of boys beginning to stutter is greater than that of girls. I learned that this may be because of a genetic predisposition for stuttering and/or that boys tend to develop slower than girls with regard to language acquisition. Are there any ideas out there that would support theses theories and why there is a greater occurace of boys who stutter than girls? Thank you in advance.
