I don't have any data to answer your question. When children start in therapy at younger ages, there is a higher likelihood that they will not need additional therapy later on. Some of this may be due to early intervention, while for others the reason may be that they either recovered on their own, or did not truly have a stuttering problem. For children who begin therapy at later ages, the likelihood of continuing to stutter to some extent is higher. Some of these individuals may return additional therapy for their stuttering later in life. I also see a fair number of people in their late 20's and early 30's who had therapy as children, but who now have an interest in continuing to modify their stuttering.
