Mark, thanks for writing. The terms “stammer” and “stammerer” are commonly used in the United Kingdom and perhaps in other countries as well. In the United States, some people who stutter may refer to their speech as “stammering.” In many such situations in the US, the term “stammering” is being used as a euphemism for stuttering.
