Hi! I am a graduate student in speech-language pathology and really felt your article is very valuable. It seems as though it would be common sense, but I have never considered how important rephrasing and detailing stuttering can make a profound impact. This is definitely something I will use with clients. I was curious about reactions of teachers, parents or even the client to the positive language. Even with explanation, it seems as though some individuals may not understand or appreciate it what positive language will do. What are some effective ways to encourage others to use positive language? Also, do you see positive changes in stuttering, confidence or motivation in clients when positive language is used? Thanks again for the insight!
