I agree that SLPs and others need to determine which terminology they use (stutter or person who stutters) by personal preference of the client. It seems to me, however, that it may be akward to ask some clients directly. For example, some older children such as middle school or high school children may not be comfortable with such a question. How would you suggest to determine which title each particular client prefers?
