Hi Peter, Thank you for producing a most interesting article. Negative self-talk is SO damaging. I read somewhere that, on average, we receive 60,000 thoughts daily, of which 40,000 are negative. Apparently, we cannot stop them entering our head, but the moment one arrives, I acknowledge it and propel it to the trash can. Not everyone realises that we have the choice to think whatever we wish. If we retain a negative thought, it is WE who are electing to do so. Everytime we re-think a negative thought, we fuel it and add to its strength. The secret is to be able to recognise negative self-talk in the first place - sadly some people become so accustomed to thinking in that manner, without realising the detrimental nature (and implications) of the message. Kindest regards Alan
