Patricia, you mention that some middle school or high school children may be uncomfortable talking about stuttering. Therapy for this age range is not supposed to be comfortable. Therapy may be hard because dealing with stuttering is hard. My view is that the clinician should not be helping clients avoid the tough parts of therapy, but should be guiding clients into and through the tough spots of therapy. Peter
