Our group therapy sessions are big enough that we break up into about 3 smaller groups to discuss it first amongst each group (guided by a student clinician). One of the jobs of the clinician is to ensure that everyone talks; however, this activity seems to be interesting enough that everyone is drawn in and anxious to add their two cents. The excitement and interactivity can challenge a client's target use; which is another dimension of the activity. After 10-15 minutes, we reassemble as a large group and a representative for each of the smaller groups presents his/her group's selections. Later, clients read the offical explanation and reationale of what you should take from the U.S. Coast Guard. You don't have to stutter to enjoy this.. try it with some friends at a get together!
