Hello Andrea: Thanks for your question. In our study, we asked respondents two questions about stuttering support groups. First, we asked if they were currently members of a stuttering support group (44% were current members). We also asked if they had EVER been a member of a stuttering support group -- and 59% reported that they had. In response to your second question, I believe that the ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) protects those with speech problems. However, I can't comment on the legal aspects nor on the rate of success of those who use the act to lodge a grievance. Best regards, Marshall Rice
