I am not surprised at all about the results of your research project. But it frustrates me to think that so many people/employers are so ignorant about stuttering. As part of my fluency class in grad school, our professor had us go out experience personally what it might feel like to be someone who stutters. Several people were courteous but I had several negative experiences where I felt like people were judging me as if I was not as competent as a fluent speaker. On a very small level, I feel that I was able to relate to the participants in your research project. I agree with the responses that several of the participants had and I feel that there is a definite level of discrimination regarding PWS's. Thank you for doing this research project. I hope that people will share the conclusions with their employers so that a change can be made in workplaces.
