Hi Rachel: Thanks for your thoughtful questions. You ask: 1.In your opinion, if more PWS file grievances and the discrimination became more nationally recognized, would it bring a more positive work environment for the PWS or would it hinder employees from hiring a PWS in the first place. My thought: The 'optimist' in me thinks that it would bring about a more positive work environment. I have no empirical evidence for that, however. It may be useful to look at some historical evidence to see what happened in other areas where discrimination became more evident and discussed. Your second question is: Do you know of any studies that compare the salaries of a PWS to a person who does not stutter who may be working the same type of job where they should be getting paid equally. Answer: I know of no study that asked this. It would be a very interesting study, however. Maybe my next research project could ask this... Thanks again. Dr. Marshall Rice
