Hello Jessica: Thanks for the your questions. One of your questions was whether the results stated by our respondents were there own perceptions or whether they were told by employers they would not be promoted because of their stuttering. The anwser is that both have occured. The quantitative question we asked is based on perceptions. However, we also asked respondents to write open-text comments on what had happened to them and some report that employers told them directly that they could not be promoted due to their speech problem. I think it is a good idea to conduct research with employers. However, that would be a difficult study for me as I have excellent access to PWS, less access to employers.
