Hi, I am asking for aall the help I can get. I have a friend, who happens to be my girlfriend. She has somewhat of an inferiority complex, but what bothers me is that she self-mutilates herself by cutting on places of her body. I have read that ppl, especially girls do this, however I firmly believe that this is wrong, what she is doing right now, is somewhat out of control, and she does this everyday. I feel that as a friend who really cares about her, its my duty to helping her. No matter how much I'm there for her , willing to listen to her, etc, I know that I cannot help her directly. I have considered talking to her parents about this. Obviosuly they are her parents, they can never see their own daughter go onto the wrong path. Do you think I am making a wise decision by telling her parents, and then helping her out, or should I refrain from that? I care for her a lot, and I love her.
