Hello Deirdre, I'm sure my story draws parallels with THE story of many, many other stutterers'. It's just that I happened to present it on here -- which was acceptance in itself (as Judy Kuster taught me) :-) Regarding acceptance, it has been my experience, it is a long process. There are many stages to it. It doesn't come, or happen overnight. Same with non-avoidance. The key lies in taking it one step at a time, and not strive for 100% acceptance or non-avoidance from the onset. Talk about 100%, I'm still far from that mark, but I'm on my way.
