First of all, I am a 22 year old graduate student at the College of St. Rose in New York. I have to say that after reading your story, I am extremely impressed by your writing style, analogies, and most importantly your insight on the impact of stuttering on your life. You are very self-aware and that is a huge barrier for some. I loved your story because I understand how hard it must be for you to go through life, and school, as a person who stutters. I do not have a stuttering disorder nor any other communication problem, but I am studying to become an Speech Language Pathologist so I realize the stress and difficulties that come hand in hand with school alone. I cannot imagine, for one, being in a field of study that I am uninterested in, and I also cannot imagine studying something I do not thoroughly enjoy. I am happy to see that you made a wise decision to follow your dreams. The one question I have for you is if you have had any fluency therapy. If you have, at what point in your life did it occur, what approach was taken, and what are your views on your therapeutic experience as well as SLP intervention as a whole?
