Hi Ledy, You say: >>”If this method of subsitution or avoidance was effective, your fluency improved, you stopped stuttering with your friends and peers.......<< You have mis-interpreted me. I never said my fluency improved due to substitution or avoidance! Why it improved is an all together different story which I have never spelled out – not going into details now. A brief answer can be -- In many cases fluency does improve as a person grows older, same with me. Ledy: >>”......and you learned to maneuver thru your blocks, why make it harder on yourself, why not just improve on these techniques?<< Prakhar: It isn't making it hard on myself. On the contrary, it's liberating myself. From what? From the FEAR, that is omnipresent. I have expanded on this in my response to Michael Nawrocki where I have talked about disclosure. Please have a read here. http://www.mnsu.edu/comdis/cahn_mnsu_edu/9sachan/_disc4/0000002a.htm I hope I've answered you. If not, then do let me know. Best wishes, Prakhar
