It is inspiring to read about your story and the personal triumph you have made over what was once such a debilitating disorder for you. It is unfortunate that you had such little early intervention. Hopefully that as times moves on more and more schools and educators will be trained to identify and begin to help PWS before it sends them, as you say, "running and hiding". People who are uninformed only see the surface of the problems faced by PWS; what they do not see is the ice berg right beneath it. It is stories like your's that will hopefully bring about an awareness of the extent to which stuttering can effect one's daily life. And to go off of your analagy...even though many PWS may still only be seeing sand, hopefully their intentions PLUS other's awareness are moving them in the right direction!
