Hi Elizabeth, Thanks for commenting! You ask:>>"Is there anything in particular that you feel a clinician should focus on when treating an adult PWS?"<< As such, nothing in particular. I'd just say, the SLP should design an individualistic approach vis-a-vis her clients. For example, I was taught to slow down my rate of speech considerably – which never really benefited me as a whole. But then again some people do benefit. Same with Voluntary Stuttering. I was never really aligned with the concept of VS for achieving desensitization, but many people have reported magnificent results with the same. You see, being rigid never helps. Another important aspect of treating a PWS is, just not concentrating on external/physical manifestations of stuttering. But, treating stuttering on the whole personality level. Chronic stutterers over the years have added considerably towards their emotional component of stuttering, which needs to be dealt as well. Support and pep talks are very much required and do add considerably to the whole process. I personally love a pep talk! :-) All the best with your future practice! Best wishes, Prakhar
