Hi Jennifer, Thank you very much for the kind and generous remarks! They've already brightened my day. :-) You ask: >>”First I am curious how stuttering as a whole is viewed in India? <<” Well, I really cannot answer that question. Because, as India is SO much diverse, cultures vary significantly. As such, I cannot talk about how stuttering is viewed as a whole. I can only talk about it in regards to me. My perception of what people think is, they would label stuttering as something 'unwanted'. They won't go to the length of labeling it as a “shame” or even “sin”! ;) In this context you might be interested in reading the latter half of my response to Pirayeh Shabanzadeh. http://www.mnsu.edu/comdis/cahn_mnsu_edu/9sachan/_disc4/0000004d.htm You further ask: >>”I have to ask if you ever received any formal therapy, or are you now? If so, did/do you find it beneficial?<<” Yes, I did have speech therapy. No I am not on any therapy now. And yes, speech therapy was beneficial. Not that it “cured” me of my stuttering. But, I got acquainted with many speech therapy tools from which I could develop my own strategy, and they could serve as a fall-back when required.
