It was stated that many of the researchers of stuttering were PWS themselves, and it gave their research more validity. As we all know, people can be very judgemental of PWS. As some of them were working clinicians, did people question their ability to treat stutters? Did they feel as if they were competent enough to treat someone with a fluency disorder?
