Your question about authors who may provide a balanced point of view about stuttering is an important one. I believe that much attention should be paid to bibliographies and to archival books This means more than reading books that use language that suggests "Integration" It's more than just words. Examine the literature back over the years, in the 30's through to the present. Is equal space and time given in books, Introductory books, to various points of view. It is a big job.Start with the writings of early pioneers such as Travis and Johnson and VanRiper, and check out their bibliographies, then move forward. Some books have tried to capture an archival focus. Examine the writings of Judith Kuster who has devoted much effort and time to gathering archival writings and the content of meetings. Look in detail at her contributions to this current program we are participating in right now as a way to get started. You can also contact your current mentors and professors for their opinions about tnhis issue. I would like to hear about your progress. It is a major task.
