I believe that there are number of subcultures in our society that have experiences similar to those of PWS. The Deaf, The Blind, Little people, the Elderly, Certain mental and physical illnesses. racial goupings, ethnic backgrounds, religous groups each may feel the dynamics of feeling alone, abandoned, taunted, helpless, excluded, handicapped, self pity and anger. They often want to avoid socialization, and seek others like themselves. They organize their life style around their being different, and often do not reach for their strengths. It woujld be interesting to bring some of these different cultures together to communicate how they cope. They possibly could be helpful to one another, in terms of these life styles and social interaction problems.
