I am not clear what you meant when you said, "Every segment has to stay in contact with the other segments, whether it involves differences , disagreements, or integrations; even to the point of cooperative research projects, and co-authoring publications." Do you simply mean we all need to be aware and accept each other as is? Also, I know the Deaf Culture does not consider themselves as having a "problem." They do though form a culture around their commonalities, just as people who stutter do. But I also feel that the Deaf Culture and Stutting Culture cannot be compared because Stuttering has so many psychological factors. Deaf is black and white. Either you can or can't hear. With stuttering, it is situational with so many dependents. I guess I was expecting to read more about how people who stutter view their "culture" rather than how they are viewed as a culture. Did I miss something?
