Dear Ellen-Marie, I am a graduate student in speech and language pathology and I was very interested to read your paper as your approach to stuttering is one that can be useful in many aspects of life. I loved Einstein's quote "we experience what we believe". I have read a few other papers that discuss the practice of being cognisant of one's stuttering, and working with it rather than struggling against it. This makes me wonder about the different arguments about the etiology of stuttering. What do you believe it to be? Is your "mind over matters" approach something you think will lead to full fluency? Or is it more of a tool to help manage and reduce secondary stuttering beaviors so that one can speak to the best of their abilities as a person who stutters?
