I found this article very interesting! As a student of speech-laguage pathology all that I have learned about stuttering has pertained to spoken language. Even in the ASL courses I have taken we never learned about the possiblilty that stuttering could occur in sign language. After reading this article I began to think about how I have learned that sign language is processed in the same areas of the brain as spoken language. Taking this into consideration it would make sense that if stuttering has a neurogenic component both spoken and signed languages would be effected. I am currently a 1st semester graduate student at NYU and hope that I will get to see more research on this subject throughout my career. I really enjoyed the article!
