Dear Cindy Spillers, I am currently a graduate student at the college of St.Rose in Albany, New York. I am enrolled in a graduate stuttering course and a memer of the school's fleuncy council. Being a member of the school's fluency council has allowed me to provide therapy for children and adults who stutter. I absolutely love it! I enjoyed your article very much. I like the connections that you made about feelings and the accpetance of stuttering. I also noticed that you not only worked with people who stutter, but also have experience in counseling. Do you think having a background in counseling has been benefical to you in treating people who stutter? Do you think young students should be required to take a counseling in order to assist them in in treating those who stutter? Furthermore, I was wondering what type of approach do you take when dealing with the feeling and attitudes that surround stuttering? Thanks! Kristen
