Thanks for your thoughtful comment, Ali. Your thoughts about having the power to chose how we react to and cope with a situation, sounds very existential and very Zen. Both existentialism and Buddhism suggest that we have the power to choose our attitudes and responses to situations. Holding this belief allows a person to take more ownership of their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors.
