Cindy, I am moved by your courageous and generous sharing of your journey which reflects the struggles we all need to face eventually. You have found a path, difficult and challenging at times, that rreleases you to be your genuine self. Congratulations! You make the point for us clinicians so well: We are no different from our clients. They want to be happy and at peace, and so do we. Keeping that in mind increases our compassion and understanding in our role as therapist and accelerates our effectiveness performing it. >> Just a suggestion: If you haven't already discovered the writings of Carl Jung, I think you might want to acquaint yourself with them, especially his writings about the individuation process that demands the embrace and incorporation of our individual shadow selves to achieve personal wholeness. Very best wishes on your travels, Fellow SLP, Ellen-Marie Silverman
